Testimonials

Dr Hagerman and Karen,

Thanks for coming out to see Raleigh, it was good to see both of you again and I always feel good knowing my horse has his float and shots out of the way, for a while at least.  Here is a photo of Raleigh and I after last month's dressage show.  I think Raleigh really just wanted to know if the ribbons were edible.

Thanks again!
Misty

Thanks to Dr. Linda & Staff for taking such super care of my "Troublemaker Fancy".  Because of you at 26 years she's still moving.
-- Kathy Beals (April 2010)

Mikey came to you all back in May 2008 for a leg injury!  He had gotten his leg caught in the horse trailer after rearing while tied up to the outside.  Mikey ended up chipping a finger-nail sized bone chip off of his short pastern bone.  He went through some extensive treatment and healing.  To our surprise and amazement the chip exited the pastern with the help of the wonderful staff, and use of ichthammol!  Today Mikey is healthy and strong; he is fully healed with no limitations found yet!  He has a little scar tissue, but it doesn't seem to bother him.  We have taken him on several long rides and he keeps up just fine (like the accident never happened) and is currently being used by a 7 year old girl for lessons.

Thank you all for Mikey's 2nd chance.
Sincerely,
Chanda Nixon

Dear Tacoma Equine Hospital,

I just wanted to give you guys a big THANKS for all the wonderful care you have given my horses this past year.  Since Dr Hagerman and Dr Arnold gelded my miniature horse, Boomer, he has turned into the most wonderful and loving little boy! I have decided to keep him instead of selling him, since he has had such an attitude adjustment!

Second, I want to thank Dr Meg for all her help with my show horse, Mr Rocca.  He fell and got a nasty cut on his hip, and Dr Meg came out and treated him like a king!  After 5 weeks of stall rest (miserable for both of us!!!!!), and numerous phone calls from Dr Meg checking up on him, he is back in the show ring.... and winning!!! His first show following his injury and lay-up, he took a first place in our dressage show at Training Level Test 4, and a second place at First Level Test 1.  I was so proud of him.

Thank you all sooo much for your kindness and professionalism.  You guys really are the best in my opinion and I look forward to seeing you all in the future. (Of course, I want that to be routine care and not emergencies! Ha Ha)

Enclosed are two pictures.  One of Me and Rocca at our Sept 09 dressage show, the other is of Mr Rocca and Boomer. Both photos were taken by Krista Davis of Equestrian Reflections Photography.

(Rocca is a 9yo Canadian Thoroughbred Gelding, and Boomer is a 3yo Miniature Appaloosa Gelding.)

Thanks again for everything.
Sincerely,
Dina DeMent

We just want to give a big thanks for all the patience and understanding that Tacoma Equine has given us with our horse Harlee.  Harlee fractured his rear canon bone 18wks ago.  The prognosis was dim but we made the choice that we were going to do anything possible to get Harlee 100%.  This meant daily treatment and meds and learning how to wrap several layers to immobilize that needed to be done every 5days.  Dr Arnold has been there every step of the way and even made a late nite call when we had a bandage panic attack; she came out and helped us over the fear and has taken any kind of call no matter how silly it may seem.  Dr Arnold and her assistants came and x-rayed and treated him with compassion and care knowing that he is part of our family and even when things didn’t always look good, still kept a positive outlook and realized that we are very dedicated to Harlee.  Harlee is doing awesome and loves his stall but will be glad when he can finally take a walk outside.

Thank you Dr Arnold and Tacoma Equine for being there for our family and Harlee.

Brown Family

We consider Tacoma Equine an integral part of our life with our 5 horses.  The care, understanding and patient service is beyond compare!  We are truly spoiled!  We don't know what we would do without you to turn to for their every little need!

My name is Tricia and I would like to take a moment to let everyone know what a wonderful experience I had when I brought my two horses to see Dr. Meg for routine shots and physical.  It was my first visit to their facility and they showed me how to maneuver the horse trailer in the parking area.  The facility was very clean.
Dr. Meg explained things to me that I did not understand and made me feel more knowledgeable about my horses health and diet.  I would recommend my family or friends to take their horses to see Dr. Meg.

Dr. Meg is caring person who wants to make sure you understand how you can keep your horse healthy.

Sincerely,
 Tricia Dietz

Wonder’s eyelid cut can’t even be found – great for a fancy show horse.
Windango’s quarter tear was treated; farrier was set-up to shoe correctly and jumping 4 ft!
Bec’s huge abscess isn’t slowing him anymore. Help with controlled costs was GREAT!
-- Markay Kerr

My horse, Jackie, is a 22 year old Paint.  Dr. Arnold first saw her in October 2008 for complications which were linked to her Cushing's Disease.  Jackie had multiple abscesses in her mouth, was unable to eat for a number of months and had lost around 200 pounds as well as her top line.  She also developed skin lesions all over her body.   Dr. Arnold also referred her to an Equine Dentist who came all the way to the Tacoma Equine Clinic to see Jackie for her mouth and teeth problems.  After a 3 hour exam, which consisted of multiple procedures on her mouth abscesses and teeth, we were able to take Jackie back home.  Within the next 24 hours she began to eat again.  What a wonderful sound to hear her actually chewing again!!!

Unfortunately, within the next week she was unable to walk on her right hind leg.  Dr. Arnold came to the rescue again, diagnosed and treated her hoof abscess.  She came to Jackie's stall and showed me how to properly soak and bandage her foot.

At this point in time, I am happy to say Jackie is doing much better and slowly progressing back to her old self again.

I am very impressed with both Dr. Arnold and Dr. Hagerman. (Dr. Hagerman actually got out of her sickbed to help with Jackie's 3 hour equine dental appointment!!).  Both doctors respond readily to my inquiries and concerns and seem very knowledgeable.  (Since Jackie is my first horse, I sure have alot to learn!  Both doctors are very personable and understanding and don't seem to mind addressing my anxieties about Jackie's illnesses.  I'm kind of like a new Mom with a 22 year old new born...) My daughter is Jackie's keeper and care-giver and both doctors communicate well with her about Jackie's care and dietary issues.   It is a comfort to have doctors who genuinely care about each and every patient's well-being.

Dear Dr. Linda –
I want to thank you for coming over to check on Penny at 4 am.  It is so nice to know that I can count on you to come so quickly in case of an emergency.  I am glad that she is feeling better and back to her old cranky self.  I was really worried about her after the colic experiences I’ve had with Annie and Buster.  Thanks again – You’re the Best – Christine Eaves

Marty is an ERU [Equine Recurrent Uveitis] horse.  Through your Hospital, he received 2 implants in his eyes in 2001 & 2002.  Since then he has not had any inflammatory issues.  His vision is 95% in one eye and 98% in the other. He and I are both very grateful to Dr. Hagerman.
Thank you, Sherry Hartley
